Amie L. Bauer was born in Topeka, Kansas and was raised in Carbondale and Colby, Kansas. She graduated from Bethany College in 2001, with a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in Communications and a Concentration in Administration of Justice. While at Bethany she was the editor of the Bethany Messenger Newspaper, served as a student ambassador, and was selected as the student graduation speaker. Amie attended law school at Washburn School of Law in Topeka, graduating with a J.D. degree in 2004. While in law school, she participated in Moot Court, Sam A. Crow Inns of Court, and received awards for excellence in oral advocacy and appellate brief writing. She clerked for Cavanaugh, Smith and Lemon, P.A. of Topeka, during this time.
Amie joined the McPherson County Attorney’s office in September 2004 where she prosecuted traffic, child in need of care cases and general misdemeanor and felony crimes until 2005. From 2004 until 2006, Amie also served as Marquette City Prosecutor. In 2005, Amie joined Gusenius Law Office, P.A., practicing in criminal defense, and domestic, including adoption and child in need of care. She is also the Lindsborg City Prosecutor, Newton Assistant City Prosecutor and serves as a Municipal Judge for Moundridge and Canton. She is a member of the McPherson County and Kansas Bar Associations as well as the Kansas Women Attorney’s Association.
Amie and her husband Chris Bauer have two daughters.
